Creating and using a Gold Standard

Before we started organising the Pakistan Day seminars we were looking at how we can and why we should judge the quality and reliability of information we find on the Internet.

Your job now is to apply this learning to an information problem.

You are going to:

Choose a research question from a list
Decide what your Gold Standard for Information Sources would be
Find 5 websites that meet your Gold Standard
Report on how you established your Gold Standard and how the websites you have chosen meet those Gold Standard

In the The Good, the Bad and the Ugly folder you will find a document called Information Problems for your Gold Standard Work.

You will receive a grade for your report on the Gold Standard, for your report on the 5 websites and from your peers on how you have applied your Gold Standard.

CAS Reflections

In order for your CAS project to be counted towards your CAS portfolio, you need to submit your reflection and finalise the packet within two weeks of the end of the activity.

Pakistan Day was on March 13, this means you have until March 27 to complete your CAS packet and reflection... and we'll be on Spring Break then. What are you going to do to solve this dilemma?
